Coppell plans to field one Varsity and one Junior Varsity team for the 2018-19 season; by league rule, only 7th - 10th graders are allowed to play Junior Varsity and only 8th - 12th graders are allowed to play Varsity hockey. Only 2006 birth year or OLDER may play in the Fall.
*Birth year 2007 and 2008 incoming 6th and 7th graders are welcome to attend the tryouts but are ineligible to play for the upcoming Fall season.
Any player entering 7th – 12th grade, living in the Coppell ISD boundaries and attending a Coppell ISD school, a private school, a charter school, a home school, etc. is eligible to play high school hockey for Coppell.
A player living outside the Coppell ISD boundaries, whose school district has no high school hockey team, may also be eligible to play hockey for Coppell if that player qualifies under the special provisions set up by the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League.
Any questions about eligibility can be directed to the Coppell High School Hockey Association at firstname.lastname@example.org
For the 2019-2020 Season, every high school player, new AND returning must register directly with the league. Players do not pay a fee and this step does not change any process that the clubs have in place to register players. This is an additional step for the league to be able to obtain data and USAH registration information on each player. This must be completed prior to registering for tryouts.
